The Betsy Ross flag is a version of the flag of the United States that features 13 white stars arranged in a circle on a blue field, with the stars representing the 13 original colonies that declared independence from Great Britain during the American Revolution. The flag also features 13 red and white stripes, representing the 13 colonies. According to legend, the flag was designed by Betsy Ross, a seamstress from Philadelphia, who was said to have sewn the first American flag at the request of George Washington and other members of the Continental Congress in 1776. However, there is no historical evidence to support this claim, and it is now considered to be a folklore. This flag is also known as the First Navy Jack or the First Flag of the United States.
